Seperti dimuat situs Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), proses gerhana diawali kontak awal penumbra pada Selasa pagi, sekitar pukul 10:52:38  WIB. Kemudian kontak awal umbra akan dicapai pada 12:57:35 WIB. Dilanjutkan dengan puncak gerhana pada sekitar pukul 13:03:25 WIB. Kemudian kontak akhir umbra akan terjadi pada sekitar 13:09:36 WIB dan kontak akhir penumbra pada sekitar 15:14:29 WIB.

"Gerhana terlihat seperti cincin hanya di daratan Antartika (kutub selatan) dengan durasi 49 detik melintasi wilayah Antartika, selain wilayah tersebut, gerhana hanya terlihat sebagai gerhana parsial, meliputi selatan Samudera Hindia, seluruh Benua Australia, pulau Jawa bagian selatan serta Nusa Tenggara," demikian yang dijelaskan di laman Nu.or.id.
